Hello!
The Maynard Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of the memories and memorabilia of Maynard, Massachusetts for our current and future generations.
We are a small team of volunteers who, currently, are focused on the conservation and cataloging of the many items people have donated to the Society over the decades.
The Maynard Historical Society’s collection of over 11,500 documents and artifacts is currently not available to the public in person, but we have made nearly all of the collection available online.

We are dedicated to making the history of Maynard available to all.

About the Society
The Maynard Historical Society was formed in 1961, ten years before the Town’s Centennial anniversary in 1971. The primary goal of the Society at that time was to collect as much historical information for the 100th anniversary book that was being written.
Since that time the Society continues to collect documents and artifacts related to the town’s history.
Volunteers
The Society has no staff. All activities, projects, and publications are 100% volunteer effort.
Museum
Unfortunately the Maynard Historical Society has no museum facility at this time.
Maynard Historical Commission?
The Maynard Historical Commission is a town government committee, appointed by the Maynard Board of Selectmen, and is charged with developing regulations and programs within the town to preserve and protect historical assets.
The Society is a private organization.
Maynard Public Library
We work with the Maynard Public Library (on Nason Street) to provide items from the collection for display at the library.
The library is responsible for the theme and the theme changes every couple of months.
